Breast Lift Surgery to Reverse the Effects of Gravity and Aging
A breast lift or mastopexy is an operation that is performed to correct sagging or drooping of the breasts resulting from pregnancies, breast feeding and weight loss. A breast lift will elevate the nipple to a more youthful and attractive position. A breast implant is often used in this procedure to improve the size and shape of the breast. It may be necessary to reduce the size of the areola.
Today we are using several different procedures to achieve the optimal and most artistic and long lasting result. The vertical type mastopexy for example eliminates the transverse incision beneath the breast and provides a fuller and more natural looking upper breast while preventing the bottoming out of the underside of the breast seen in some of the older procedures. The various types of mastopexies are designed to specifically tailor themselves to the sometimes unique and individual problems that can be associated with ptosis of the breast.
